The Team

The Finance Operations team, together with Accounting & Reporting and Strategic Finance, is part of the Finance Organization. The team consists of Finance Data, Operations Pricing, and Profitability. We work closely together with product and business teams to enable data-based decision-making and own the company’s pricing & profitability strategy and roadmap.

The Role

You will join the pricing & profitability team and be responsible for product and shipping profitability analytics and reporting. You will play a key role in identifying and communicating insights and opportunities to drive profitability improvements across the organization. As part of your day-to-day activities, you will collaborate with operational teams, GMs, and Product Managers to ensure responsible teams are on top of their profitability metrics and provide timely actions on backlog items.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintaining profitability and unit economics model, ownership of regular and ad-hoc reporting
  • Weekly and monthly metric and callout reporting to stakeholders
  • Reporting standardization and automation using Looker
  • Deep dives into margins to generate ad-hoc insights
  • Maintaining the company’s profitability issue backlog, ensuring the accuracy of impact calculations, timely status updates from stakeholders, and transparency of work
  • Communicating and explaining profitability backlog items to ensure work is prioritized and ETAs received from responsible teams
  • Advising business and product teams on new project data quality requirements and profitability implications to ensure we can monitor profitability from day 1 and are accurately budgeting results
  • Escalating profitability callouts to management in case of high impact or lack of resolution from stakeholder teams
  • Documenting and communicating profitability data requirements to Data teams

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous finance analyst experience
  • Strong written & verbal English communication skills 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis using data visualization software (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • 5+ years of professional experience using SQL-like language
  • Financial modeling and analytics skills, proficiency in Excel usage for data analysis
  • Advanced skill level and demonstrable experience distilling big data sets into actionable insights that drive business value
  • Demonstrated ability to present and clearly articulate summarized data analysis results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment, while managing multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous profitability analyst experience
  • Previous Looker experience
  • Experience with forecasting, modeling, and user research is prioritized
