About The Role:
The Senior People Operations Specialist plays a critical role in driving operational excellence across a new organisation’s global HR processes.
This role serves as a subject matter expert in employee lifecycle operations, HR systems (Workday), and compliance, ensuring seamless, compliant, and high-quality support to employees and leaders.
The Senior Specialist contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and knowledge sharing across regions and teams.
Your Daily Tasks Will Entail:
HRIS & Lifecycle Management:
Own and execute complex HR transactions (Hire, Change Job, Terminate, Mass Actions) within Workday, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and adherence to internal controls.
Act as a key liaison with HRIS teams to troubleshoot, test, and implement enhancements or configuration changes.
Support HR reporting, dashboards, and audits with accurate and timely data inputs.
Process Ownership & Documentation:
Develop, document, and continuously improve global and local HR processes aligned with best practices and company standards.
Provide training and guidance to junior team members or HR coordinators on HRIS processes, documentation practices, and compliance.
Employee Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare, review, and manage complex employee documentation (e.g., international assignments, mobility letters, restructurings) with legal and policy compliance.
Ensure documentation and digital archiving meet data privacy, local legal, and internal audit requirements across jurisdictions.
Employee Support & Case Management:
Serve as an escalation point for complex employee or manager queries related to compensation, benefits, and HR policies.
Maintain case records in ticketing systems, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) and employee experience standards are met.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with Legal, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams on cross-functional projects and recurring processes (e.g., audits, data reconciliations, onboarding flows).
Support organizational changes such as entity set-up, integrations, and policy roll-outs by providing People Ops expertise.
Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement and automation across HR operations; lead or support improvement initiatives in partnership with HR Tech or Process Excellence teams.
Contribute to knowledge management by creating and updating internal documentation, SOPs, and employee self-service content.
Your Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
4–6 years of experience in HR operations or people administration, ideally in a multinational, fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience with Workday or another enterprise-level HRIS (required).
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of HR operations, employee lifecycle, and regulatory requirements.
Strong proficiency in document management, HR process mapping, and data reporting.
Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and workflow tools.
Strong command of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); ability to build reports, trackers, or templates for process monitoring.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
High attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Capable of working independently and managing priorities in a high-volume environment.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Other Requirements:
Fluency in Latvian and English (written and spoken); additional language(s) are a plus.
Knowledge of European labor law, GDPR, and compliance standards preferred.
Continuous improvement or Lean Six Sigma experience (a plus).
